Harrods Knightsbridge & International Stores


What are Harrods opening hours?

Our Knightsbridge store is open from 10am - 8pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 11.30am - 6pm on Sundays (browsing only from 11.30am - 12 noon).


What are the Christmas opening hours?

Monday to Saturday 10am - 8pm and from 11.30am - 6pm on Sundays (browsing only from 11.30am -12 noon). The store is closed Christmas Day.


What are the Easter/Bank Holiday opening hours?
 

Harrods Knightsbridge store is open from 10am - 8pm on Good Friday, Easter Monday, and the May and August Bank Holidays. We are closed on Easter Sunday.

What are the dates of the Harrods Summer Sale?

Our Summer Sale opens on Saturday 27th June 2009 and ends on Sunday 19th July 2009. For the first day of the Summer Sale, we will be open from 9am - 9pm. From the 29th June, we are open from 10am - 9pm, Monday to Saturday and 11.30am - 6pm Sundays (browsing only from 11.30am - 12 noon) until Saturday 22nd August. The store will return to it's normal opening hours from Sunday 23rd August 2009.

 
What are the dates of the Harrods Winter Sale?
 
Our Winter Sale opens on Saturday 26th December 2009 at 10.00am.

Harrods usually circulates four major catalogues a year - January Sale catalogue, July Sale catalogue, Christmas Gifts catalogue, and the Christmas Hamper & Gift Boxes catalogue.

Harrods Rewards

To be added to the Harrods mailing list and receive our monthly magazines you will need to become a member of the Harrods Rewards programme.

The Harrods Rewards card is not a store card or a credit card. It is our way of showing our appreciation for your custom by rewarding you every time you shop. You will earn points for every pound you spend in-store, no matter how you choose to pay. We will then convert those points into a cash balance that you can spend at Harrods.

For every 500 points you have earned you will receive £5 to spend on whatever you choose. Please note that Harrods Rewards points cannot be redeemed online. What is Harrods Store Returns Policy*?

Customers are strongly advised to read this store policy statement


Unwanted Goods: Unwanted goods may be returned for a refund or exchange if returned in their original condition within 14 days with proof of purchase. However, this is subject to the discretion of the manager of the department where the goods were purchased and is subject to the restrictions and conditions below. Refunds will be made against the original form of tender except in respect of purchases made by cash, cheque/traveller’s cheque or gift voucher/gift card which will be refunded by way of shopping credit. Where different forms of tenders are used, assumption will be that forms of tender eligible for shopping credit refund will be exhausted before other forms of tender are refunded. Refunds and exchanges on purchases made on an event day will be calculated at the reduced price. Where a complimentary gift has been issued with a purchase, the gift must also be returned.


Sale Goods:

Sale items or special purchases bought in Harrods Sale may only be returned for exchange or refund (by way of shopping credit) if returned in their original condition with proof of purchase, during the same sale period or within 14 days of purchase (whichever is earlier). Any shopping credit issued must be redeemed in store by the end of that sale period.


Exclusions:

We cannot accept returns of certain items including: custom made goods, limited edition items, fine art, prints and sculptures, beds, bedding, toiletries, cosmetics, fragrances, pierced earrings, hair accessories, swimwear, lingerie/nightwear, hosiery, millinery, scarves, pharmaceutical products, woodwind and brass instruments, pets, food, beverages, perishable goods, paint, newspapers and magazines, large quantity orders and any item that is not in its original condition or has been worn or altered. Fine jewellery and watches, designer jewellery and ladies eveningwear may only be returned for exchange or refund by way of shopping credit. Additional terms and conditions of sale apply to furniture and special order items. Audio or video recordings and computer software may only be returned at Harrods’ discretion (if they have not been unsealed). This policy may be changed from time to time where we consider it reasonable and necessary to do so. Please enquire in the relevant department for details. This does not affect your statutory rights.


Faulty Goods:

Under the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 we will always offer a refund, exchange or repair service on goods that are not of satisfactory quality, fit for their purpose or have been mis-described.


Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations:

Exports:

On all goods which you ask us to ship on your behalf we will cover the cost of any loss or damage to the exported goods up to the replacement cost for an identical product. Should the identical product not be available from Harrods, the replacement cost of an alternative product of similar specification and quality will be provided up to the maximum value of the original purchase price.


Statutory Rights:

Please note that none of the above conditions affect your statutory rights.


Cheque Transactions:

We use the Transax service, from Certegy Limited, to authorise cheque payments in excess of the accompanying cheque guarantee card limit. Certegy will record information in relation to any cheque they are asked to warrant and will use it to decide whether to warrant future cheques where a subscribing organisation requests this service from Certegy to help it decide whether to accept a cheque as payment. If your cheque is subsequently returned unpaid, we will inform Certegy and also provide them with any information we hold (including your name and address). We may assign our rights to collect a debt to Certegy. Certegy will use personal data about you (or information about your company) in order to enable them to collect a debt and may carry out a credit check where they deem it necessary to facilitate collection. Certegy will charge you an administration fee for the collection of a dishonoured cheque. By making a payment by cheque you consent to Harrods Ltd. passing your personal information to Certegy and to Certegy Ltd. using your personal information for the purposes above. How do I purchase a Harrods Gift Card?

A Harrods Gift Card offers endless possibilities for birthdays, special occasions and corporate gifting. Available in £10, £25, £50, £100 and £250 denominations, loved ones and colleagues can use it to purchase their perfect presents from across our seven floors. Gift Cards may be ordered online at harrods.com or purchased in store.


How do I get to Harrods?

Harrods is located on the Brompton Road in the Knightsbridge area of Central London.
We are easily accessible by the following public transport.


Knightsbridge London Underground Station exits very close to the store and is on the Piccadilly Line.


London Bus routes C1, 74 and 14 all have stops on the Brompton Road and routes 9, 10, 19, 22, 52, & 137 will all take you to the Knightsbridge area of London. All stops are a short walk from the store. Click here for more information

Does Harrods have a dress code?

We aim to make shopping at Harrods pleasurable in every respect. To achieve this we operate a dress code, which has been widely welcomed by our customers.


The Dress Code does not permit any person to enter the store dressed in the following manner: wearing high-cut, Bermuda or beach shorts; swimwear; athletic singlets; cycling shorts; flip flops or thong sandals; with a bare midriff or bare feet; or wearing dirty or unkempt clothing.

What methods of payment does Harrods accept?

For transactions where the customer is not present we accept the following credit and debit cards:


VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Domestic Maestro and Solo.


When placing a telephone order, please quote all the numbers of the card, together with the ‘valid from’ and ‘expiry’ dates. In order to protect your details, please do not send any written details which contain your card Security Code (CSC). For security reasons, please do not quote any card details via email.


Payment can also be made by personal and company cheque drawn on a UK bank account or banker’s drafts drawn on a UK bank account in sterling.


Cheques should be made payable to Harrods Limited. We regret we cannot accept personal cheques outside the UK, due to the long delay and bank handling fees incurred in their clearance.


Personal shoppers may also pay with VISA Electron, foreign Maestro and Harrods Gift cards. Traveller’s Cheques, Sterling, Euros and American Dollars are also accepted. In addition, other foreign currencies may be accepted on request.

What are the harrods.com payment options?

You can pay online using the following options:

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept payment by cash, cheque or Harrods Gift Cards for online orders.

Please note that Diners Club and American Express will seek authorisation directly from the cardholder before authorising us to deliver orders to an address other than the billing address.


What is the security/CVV code?

The card security code or card verification value is the final three digits of the number on the signature strip on the back of your payment card. For American Express customers this is the four-digit number to the right-hand side of the card number on the front of the card.


Requesting this code helps us protect our customers from card fraud.


What is 3D Secure?

To ensure shopping at harrods.com is as safe as possible, we now operate 3D Secure - an advanced new credit and debit card authentication process operated in partnership with your cardholder. Think of 3D Secure as Chip & Pin for online shopping. Here's what you can expect:

When are Harrods Sales?

The world famous Harrods Sales run both in store and on harrods.com throughout January and July.


In addition to these exciting periods, harrods.com regularly has its own special online offers designed to ensure our customers always receive the very best value.


What currency is used on harrods.com?

All prices on harrods.com and in our catalogues are in £s sterling and include VAT where applicable. The cost of the item minus VAT will be displayed for items being exported outside the European Union.


If I’m shopping at harrods.com outside of the UK and using my credit card, what will appear on my statement?

When paying for items online or through our catalogue, payment will be debited from your card in £s sterling. The cost of delivery will be displayed when an international delivery address is entered before the transaction is complete. The VAT will be deducted before purchase, for all orders being delivered outside the European Union.


What are Harrods overseas delivery and returns policies?

Harrods offers worldwide delivery on the majority of our online and catalogue items with perfume, alcohol and items of a perishable nature being the normal exceptions.
However there may also be specific exceptions on individual items or restrictions on certain items dependant the country of export.


Delivery charges are calculated on the volumetric weight of the item once it is packaged for export. You will be informed of the delivery cost once you enter a non-UK delivery address before your order is processed.


Return of any items from overseas will be subject to Harrods standard Returns Policy.


What are the custom, duties and VAT policies?

For export of items to countries outside the European Union the VAT (value added tax) of 15% will be deducted where applicable. The cost minus VAT will be indicated for every exportable product available.


Harrods cannot be held liable for any import duties payable on orders made and recommends that all customers make themselves aware of such local charges before ordering. Harrods can also not be held liable should local customs officials decide to hold or confiscate items for any reason.

Are there any special exceptions when ordering for Christmas?

Whilst Harrods normally guarantees delivery within 5-7 working days, please be advised that during the busy Christmas period there may be delays in fulfilling your order. harrods.com will advise its customers of the last order date to ensure all goods are received before Christmas. Please note these guidelines apply to UK delivery only, please allow longer for delivery overseas.


Can Harrods deliver to multiple addresses?

Yes. We now offer a multiple delivery option. If you wish to have items from a single order dispatched to different destinations simply select the desired addresses when ordering. The only charge incurred for this service will be Harrods Standard delivery charge of £4.95. This will apply to each delivery address selected, irrespective of the number of items being delivered.


Can purchases be delivered overseas?

How can I place an order?

To place an order with harrods.com simply select the items you wish to purchase and place them in your shopping basket. Once you have finished shopping simply click on the shopping basket icon at the top of the screen and then proceed through your preferred checkout method, following the step-by-step instructions as you go.


Do I receive an acknowledgement?

After placing an order with harrods.com you will be sent an email to acknowledge that we have received your order.

How do I receive my Rewards Weekend 10% discount at Harrods.com?

To receive your 10% Rewards discount on Harrods.com orders, simply:

Either:

  • Log in before with your Rewards number before you begin shopping. This will allow you to view the 10% reduction on each product as you shop.

    Or:

  • Shop as usual and enter your Rewards number at payment stage to automatically deduct the 10% from your order. Please note: if you are not logged in as a Rewards member while you shop, you will not be able to view the 10% discount prior to payment.

What is the difference between a Hamper and a Gift Box?

‘Hamper’ generally refers to goods presented in a basket. A Gift Box refers to food  contained within a presentation box.


Can Harrods Hampers be gift wrapped?

We do not advise this as the wrapping may get damaged in transit.


How are Harrods Hampers presented on delivery?

Both Hampers and Gift Boxes are packed in an outer Harrods box to protect the contents.


Are any Harrods Hampers suitable for vegetarians?

We do not offer a Hamper specifically for vegetarians; however many of our smaller hampers do not contain meat or fish.


All Harrods Christmas Puddings are vegetarian.


Do you have any gifts suitable for diabetics, or those with Kosher or Halal dietary requirements?

How can I check if an item is suitable for individuals with nut allergies?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that any of our food products are completely nut-free.


All products that we know contain nuts or are made in a premises where nuts are used are labelled accordingly.


What is a Christmas Pudding?

A Christmas Pudding is a dessert made from dried fruit and nuts, traditionally served hot after Christmas lunch.


All Harrods Christmas Puddings are suitable for vegetarians.


How do I cook a Harrods Christmas Pudding?

Instructions are on the base of each pudding. Our Christmas Puddings can be microwaved, with the exception of those contained in ceramic bowls, which should be steamed.


Can I place an order for a bespoke (tailor-made) Hamper online?

We do not offer this service online, or on in-store or phone orders after 1st November (due to the busy Christmas period).

Do you deliver overseas?

Yes, we deliver to most overseas destinations, but we regret that we do not deliver perishable items contained in some of our Hampers and Gift Boxes outside Mainland UK.


Which countries do Harrods deliver to?

We deliver within the UK, Non-Mainland UK, European Union, Rest of Europe, USA, Canada, Far East and the Rest of the World.


Can Harrods deliver gifts to multiple delivery addresses within a single order?

Yes, you can have multiple delivery addresses and recipients on a single order containing more than one product. Please detail your requirements fully when placing your order.


Can I specify different delivery dates within a single order?

Yes, on multiple products for different recipients.


Can you guarantee a certain delivery time?

No.


Can I place an order for same day delivery?

No. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer this service.


Do you telephone the recipient prior to delivery?

We do not normally ring our customers before a package arrives. However recipients of the Montpelier Hamper, Regent Hamper, Supreme Hamper, Harrodian Hamper and
Chairman’s Choice Hamper will be notified of the scheduled delivery date prior to delivery.


What happens if the delivery details supplied are incorrect?

Why can't you send Hampers with alcohol overseas?

We cannot offer this service due to import and duty restrictions.


What happens if the recipient is not at home to sign for the delivery?

Our Delivery Courier will leave a card stating that a delivery was attempted and provide a contact number to arrange re-delivery.


How many times do you attempt delivery?

We attempt delivery 3 times.


How can I redirect my Hamper to a different address?

What happens if my goods are lost or damaged in transit?

We will either replace the goods or, if this is not possible, refund the cost of the goods, including the delivery cost.


Can I collect my order from the Harrods store?

You can collect your goods from our Distribution Centre in Osterley, West London, or our Hamper Centre in Hythe, Kent - but not Harrods Knightsbridge store.

We will make every effort to contact you by email, sms or letter. We request that you make every effort to enter your contact details correctly.


Can I reserve my Hamper(s) and pay later?

How can I obtain a VAT receipt?

Is VAT included in the price of the Hamper?

Yes - although not every Hamper has VAT applicable content. VAT will be deducted from all orders shipped by Harrods Ltd outside the EU.

Do you provide a 'duty paid' service?

We do not currently provide a 'duty paid' option on exported goods. We hope to offer this service in the near future - details will be available on harrods.com.


Do you offer any discounts on large orders?

We offer discounts for Hamper orders placed early. We do not offer a discount based upon order size. Can I personalise my order with individual messages for each hamper?

We cannot include customers' own greetings card as this may delay the shipment of your order. However, we do offer a complimentary gift card service which can be printed with your own message.


Can you personalise the Hampers or message cards with my company logo?

We regret that we cannot offer this service at this time.


How do I know when my order has been dispatched?

We will update you with an order confirmation email and a dispatch confirmation email.


Where can I find Harrods returns policy?

Except in relation to faulty or incorrectly supplied goods, where your statutory rights are unaffected, the following items may not be returned: Hampers, food, beverages and perishable goods (including flowers). Our full Returns Policy can be found here.
