Founded in 1776, Louis Roederer inherited the eponymous Champagne house in 1833 from his uncle. By 1886 the house had achieved such a reputation for quality that Tsar Alexandre II requested they make him an exclusive cuvée, resulting in Cristal - the first Cuvée de Prestige. From Brut Rosé to Blanc de Blancs, this quest for perfection continues today; the best grapes are fermented in small steel vats before the wines are stored in barrels, giving Roederer Champagnes their distinctive style: rich, round, toasted and highly complex. Benefiting from an extensive reserve wine cellar and over 240 hectares of land in the Grands and Premiers Crus terroirs of the Marne, Louis Roederer values authenticity and extraordinary intuition.
