Founded by Joseph Walker in 1898, when opening his bakery in the Speyside village of Ableour, Walkers Shortbread has continued a love for baking through years of family tradition. Though upgrading to more modern equipment over the years, their shortbread biscuits are still baked in small batches using four simple ingredients; flour, pure creamery butter, sugar and salt for a melt-in-the-mouth sensation. Surrounded by the Scottish Highlands, where the company still remains to this day, every product is wrapped in the brand’s distinctive tartan packaging for a final touch of Scottish character that’s recognised the world over.
