Quote marks and diagonal lines were all it took for the late Virgil Abloh to forever alter the trajectory of men’s streetwear, forging a distinctive visual language that expanded and evolved to become Off-White, one of the genre’s most covetable and pioneering brands. Using only a marker pen, Abloh would scribe “VIRGIL WAS HERE” on the sneakers of fans. It’s a legacy that has become nothing short of a legend – and is now overseen by the equally visionary Ibrahim Kamara, the label’s new creative director.
