Two great minds in the world of design come together in this iteration of the iconic Mah Jong sofa by Roche Bobois. The modular design was conceived by Hans Hopfer in the ‘70s and it instantly became a classic – to this day, it is still one of the label’s most recognisable pieces.
For this latest version, the brand has worked alongside fashion savant Kenzo Takada, who is affectionately known as ‘the most Parisian of Japanese designers’. He took inspiration from the ancient kimonos used in traditional Noh theatre, reinterpreting the patterns and hues into three unique colourways that symbolise the three times of the day: Asa, ‘morning’, Hiru, ‘midday’ and Yoru, ‘evening’.
Designed by Hans Hopfer
