Dualit’s world-renowned kitchen appliances owe their success to inventor Max Gort-Barten’s humble design beginnings: the Dual-Light heater from which the company takes its name was first created in 1946 in a factory in Camberwell, England. Passed down from father to son, Leslie Gort-Barten later led a rise in demand for commercial kitchen appliances in the ‘80s, which saw the brand’s line-up extend to the Combi Toaster and its first range of ground coffee machines, an appliance that today continues to be at the forefront of Dualit’s product development. The family-based company now resides in Crawley, West Sussex, where its core product ranges – from the Architect Kettles and Toasters to the Classic collection – are reimagined in an array of colourways to complement the contemporary kitchen.
