The Sangiovese grapes – or Brunello grapes, as they’re known in the region – that make up Poggio di Sotto’s exquisite Brunello di Montalcino are grown in Tuscany on the southeast side of Montalcino. The 2018 vintage, aged in French oak barrels, boasts a spicy combination of ripe Amarena cherry, plum and walnut on the nose, which follows through to a palate of earthy tones, loose tannin and dark fruits.
