The Polkadraai Chenin Blanc came to be when winemaker Chris Alheit bought the grapes from Carinus Family Vineyards to use in one of his blends. Upon doing so, he found the quality to be deserving of its very own wine; fermented with natural yeasts in concrete eggs, the resulting bottle has a creaminess on the nose and a dry earthy quality as a result of its novel fermentation process.
