Casablanca (the brand) owes a lot to Casablanca (the Moroccan city) – the latter is where founder Charaf Tajer’s parents met and fell in love. Tajer himself grew up in Paris, channelling both his French and Moroccan heritage into Casablanca clothing. That’s why coveted Casablanca shorts, for example, offer a generous palette as suited to the Stade Roland Garros as to the sun-baked cities of North Africa. Pioneering what he calls an ‘après-sport’ style, the designer blends luxury and leisure: expect Casablanca jackets with opulent motifs, must-have Casablanca shirts in printed silk and Casablanca T-shirts recalling tennis whites, made in Portugal with premium jersey.
