Created in 1951 by perfumer Edmond Roudnitska, Eau d'Hermès is the House’s inaugural fragrance. The vision for this influential eau de toilette was to evoke the interior of a Hermès bag in which the aroma of a perfume lingers. To achieve this, notes of leather underpin the fragrance’s enticing scents of citrus fruit and spices. The bottle – illustrated with a design by Philippe Dumas – is crafted in reference to the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages with a riding hat-inspired black cap.
