1882 was the first vintage Gustave Niebaum produced on the estate that would become Inglenook, and in many ways stands as a representation of the winemaker’s search for perfection; in the same year, he dug a cave in the Mayacamas foothills to better understand the ideal temperature for barrel ageing. The 2017 vintage is a well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon with fine dry tannins and a core of dark fruits, tobacco leaves and dark chocolate.
