The friendship between the Pol Roger and Churchill families ignited at a luncheon held by the British ambassador to France – shortly after the liberation of Paris – where Odette Pol Roger and Sir Winston Churchill had an instant rapport. In his honour, Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill Champagne has since been in production in the Grand Cru region; the 2015 vintage of the tipple boasts a brilliant gold hue with fine bubbles, opening with a nose of spices, fruit and mint that leads into a palate of pastries and cocoa.
