Chanel’s acquisition of Château Rauzan-Ségla has led to many improvements; grapes are now sorted by hand and aged in high-quality sessile oak barrels, the amount of Merlot has been increased and the estate has moved towards organic farming methods. The 2008 vintage is an embodiment of its efforts, with a medium-to-deep ruby red hue. The palate is defined by lifted blackcurrant fruit with notes of vanilla.
