In 1958, Cyril Henschke made the first single-vineyard Shiraz from grapes grown on the winery’s Eden Valley estate. Eight hectares of the vineyard sit next to the Gnadenberg Lutheran church at an altitude of 400 metres; this plot is affectionately known as the ‘Hill of Grace’. The eponymous wine is a deep ruby with a palate rich in layers of blackberries and redcurrants, while mature tannins reveal an excellent length and depth.
