Blending is an art form in Rare's hands, with the label carefully selecting 14 different crus to provide the grapes for its 2013 vintage. It sources Chardonnay from the lucious harvest of Villers-Marmery and Côte des Blancs Grand Crus and adds spice with fruit from Montgueux. For Pinot Noir, it calls on the verticality of Verzy and Verzenay and adds plushness with fruit from Ambonnay and Bouzy. The result? A bright, classic blend from a challenging – yet exceptional – year.
