Inspired by the lifestyle, architecture and history of Italy, the Palatine collection captures the imaginative spirit of the designer, Christophe Delcourt, who uses wood and stone, both important materials to Roche Bobois, to create this elegant dining table. The walnut and unfilled Roman travertine – both sourced locally in Urbino, Italy, where the Roche Bobois workshop is – interact in a dialogue of warmth and imperfection. The silhouette mirrors the architecture of Rome, with column-like legs joined by solid walnut joints that seem to have been carved through the rock by time, rather than by the careful hand of artisans.
