Elsa Schiaparelli moved her burgeoning atelier into the prestigious 21 Place Vendôme in 1935.
If you visit the Place Vendôme in central Paris, you will immediately set eyes upon a striking column in the centre. Commissioned by Napoleon himself in the early 19th century, the column stood for 60 years before being destroyed during political protests. It was swiftly rebuilt and still stands proudly to this day in the same location as the original. This cotton T-shirt pays homage to the strength of that column, with the symbol embroidered to the chest in tonal thread between the letters ‘E’ and ‘S’, the monogram of Elsa Schiaparelli herself.
