Wedgwood Serveware

Josiah Wedgwood, founder of the fine china emporium of the same name, was a man of exacting tastes – it was said that he would smash pottery samples that failed to meet his high standards, and it famously took him 3,000 attempts to achieve the right shade of chalky blue for the iconic Jasperware collection. Nevertheless, it’s this incessant search for perfection that continues to define the label into the 21st century; each plate, vase, serving dish and dinner set is made with the same careful attention to detail, with craftsmen taking up to 36 hours to mould, glaze, pattern and hand-enamel every piece. Its collections are vast, and include significant collaborations with esteemed designers from the likes of Vera Wang, Kit Kemp and Jasper Conran.
