Made-to-measure is a specialist tailoring process that allows you to personalise the fabric and fit of your wardrobe. Based on your measurements, a tailor adjusts a pre-existing pattern to create a garment unique to you.

No, made-to-measure is not the same as bespoke. Bespoke garments are created from scratch. Made-to-measure begins with pre-existing patterns which are altered by a tailor to fit your measurements.

The Harrods made-to-measure service begins with a one-to-one consultation. Here a Harrods Made-to-Measure Specialist will take your measurements, discuss our wide offering of luxury fabrics, your taste and wider lifestyle. Your personalised order is then sent to the brand and created by their own expert tailors. When ready, you will have a second consultation to try on your order and discuss any further alterations. Once our specialists have your measurements on file, made-to-measure orders can be made remotely.

The average made-to-measure process at Harrods takes six to eight weeks.

The Tailors at Harrods

The Harrods tailoring workshop stems back to the early 20th century, established as a rival to the famous Savile Row. Today, The Tailors at Harrods comprises an extensive staff of in-house fitters, tailors, and quality control offering three distinct services from the smallest alterations to the bespoke wedding dress of your dreams. “Anything you can imagine,” says Operating Manager Zoya Smironova. “You name it. We do it all.”

Alterations

Menswear, womenswear, embroidered bedding, napkins, Harrods bears, monogrammed towels for a yacht: our alterations service can assist you in anything. For clothes alterations, customers can request a consultation with a fitter in-store and at home. Alterations are then executed in-house and quality-controlled by our expert team. Our in-house label ‘The Tailors by Harrods’ is a new bespoke womenswear service allowing you to create any kind of garment entirely from scratch. Unique to London department stores, our tailoring team guides you through the process from start to finish, from choosing fabrics to construction in-house and the fittings on the day itself.
