Château Ducru-Beaucaillou owes its name to its 'beaux Cailloux', translated to beautiful pebbles in English. These quartz pebbles were deposited by the Gironde estuary at the beginning of the early Quaternary period, some two million years ago, and their agrological paucity guarantees the excellence of the wines. Expect lots of fruit in the middle and a hint of chocolate-sweet tannins on the finish.
