Albert Fouquet was both part of elite French society and a perfume connoisseur in the early twentieth century; one night, in the summer of 1937, on the Côte d'Azur, he met a young American student named John who was captivated by the scent he was wearing and persuaded him to part with a sample. It got passed on to John F. Kennedy, nearly got lost in WWII and, decades later, became one of the most exclusive names in the fragrance world – due to its history and the limited production of andrea, a scarce plant whose extracts are the soul of Albert's original cologne.
