2001 saw the first launch of Ridge’s Three Valleys Zinfandel blend, where grapes from a number of Sonoma vineyards are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast to give it a distinctive flavour: Zinfandel gives it varietal character, Carignan contributes bright fruit flavours and acidity, and Petit Sirah its spice, colour and tannins. In the 2021 vintage, this blend boasts a nose of toasty oak, strawberry jam and baking spices, while milk chocolate, black fruit and cherry tinge the palate.
