Zenith

Zenith founder Georges Favre-Jacot left formal education as a young boy to pursue his watchmaking ambitions; as of 1865, at the age of 22, he had set up the first true manufacture in watchmaking history. Not one to be associated with mediocrity, the Swiss juggernaut boasts a long list of fascinating triumphs that earmark it as one the most accomplished horology vanguards. Among its impressive feats is the Zenith Stratos Flyback Striking 10th model, which was worn by skydiver Felix Baumgartner to jump from the edge of space, and in so doing break the speed of sound. In pleasing contrast, Zenith counted Mahatma Gandhi, a fan – a Zenith pocket watch was one of the late spiritual leader’s few objects of materiality.
